Camco’s Threaded Dip Tube replaces damaged or worn dip tubes in electric water heaters. Designed to direct incoming cold water to the bottom of the tank, it ensures hot water remains readily available at the top for consistent performance. Featuring a built-in 5" galvanized steel nipple with standard ¾" NPT threads, this dip tube allows for quick and direct installation in compatible water heaters. It is specifically designed for threaded connections and is not compatible with drop-in or heat trap designs commonly found in certain hot water heaters. Easy to install, simply trim the 50 ½" tube to fit your water heater by cutting from the bottom, so the tube ends about 6" above the tank floor. Avoid cutting from the top, as this may remove the anti-siphon hole that helps prevent backflow. Before purchasing, verify compatibility by confirming a threaded connection, 5" nipple length, and ¾"-14 NPT size to properly fit your unit and avoid issues with flanged or non-removable heat trap designs.
